Updated guide available: EU recreational craft directive 2013/53/EU

The European Boating Industry has published an update for their guide to the new EU recreational craft directive 2013/53/EU. It is available as PDF – readable on any device – as well as an iPad app. Versions for Android will follow. There also is a CD-ROM with a collection of specific and related resources. Thus far, only available in French but plans are to let an English version follow soon, too.

Quote from their site: “This unique guide has been prepared mainly for boating professionals (manufacturers, importers, distributors) who soon will be affected by the changed EU rules on recreational craft and related products, as the new EU directive entered into force in January 2014. Between 18 January 2016 and 17 January 2017, companies can place on the EU market products compliant with both the old and new rules. As of 18 January 2017 only products, namely boats, personal water craft, engines and certain components, in line with the new Directive will be accepted. ..This new guide provides you with all you need to know to safely manufacture, import, distribute and sell your products on the EU single market, EEA and Switzerland.”
